The Headquarters of the International Personnel Certification Association (IPC/IATCA) moves to Greece from Australia. IPC/IATCA is the worldwide organization which represents personnel certification bodies, associations of professionals, training bodies and accreditation bodies from 23 countries from all 5 Continents, that amount to more than 100,000 certified professionals in various professional sectors. The decision for the relocation of IPC/IATCA to Greece was taken at the organization's annual plenary meeting, which was held in Singapore on September 5-10, 2004. A decisive role in moving IATCA to Athens was played by the systematic actions of the Mr. Sioufas, the Greek Minister for Development, as well as by the strategic positioning of Athens and its increased prestige following the recent successful hosting of the Olympic Games. Additionally, for the first time ever, Greece shall be occupying the Chairmanship of the IPC/IATCA Board of Directors. Dr. George Anastasopoulos, Managing Director of PrCert Hellas and CHECK POINT, was elected Chairman of the Association. In addition to Greece , the IPC/IATCA Board of Directors now consists ofrepresentatives from Australia, Gr. Britain , India , Japan , China , Italy and South Africa . Greece is represented within IATCA by PrCert Hellas, the professional and training course certification body (www.prcert.org).
